Swedbank Stadion kommer att uppfyllda alla de krav som UEFA ställer på en finalarena.
Från UEFA:s beslut
”UEFA has based its decisions on following considerations:
* Malmö as final venue
1. The stadium capacity is 21,000 seats, i.e. above the minimum of 20,000 set by UEFA for the final of the Under-21 final tournament.
2. The stadium will be a state-of-the-art football arena offering modern stadium facilities fully in line with the UEFA requirements for the Under-21 final(technical areas, Media & TV, hospitality, commercial spaces inside and outside the stadium).
3. The Malmö region and neighbouring Denmark totalise 3,6 million inhabitants. Due to the vicinity of Copenhagen and its large international airport, 20 minutes via connecting bridge-tunnel, Malmö offers the infrastructure needed to host the Under 21-final(airport, roads, public transports, hotels).”
En rejäl fjäder i hatten för alla inblandade i projektet naturligtvis och ännu ett bevis på att Swedbank Stadion kommer att vara Sveriges modernaste fotbollsarena när den står klar våren 2009.
