Lasse Berg Johnsen’s professional career began with Viking FK in 2018. He made his debut the following year and was then loaned out to Tromsdalen in Norway’s second division. After the loan spell, he did not return to Viking but was instead picked up by Raufoss IL, another team from Norway’s second division. Berg Johnsen secured a starting spot in central midfield, and after one season with Raufoss, he was signed by Danish club Randers FC ahead of the 2021 season. His breakthrough came during his first season at Randers, where he helped lead the team to a Danish Cup title, making 20 appearances.
In the summer of 2023, he joined Malmö FF and arguably played his best match for the club in the decisive title game against IF Elfsborg. He followed that up in 2024, playing a vital role as Malmö FF secured the double by winning both the Swedish Cup and the Swedish league.
