Joakim Persson

Joakim Persson began his football development at Hyllie IK and, via Trelleborgs FF, joined Malmö FF’s U17 team in 2023. He quickly established himself and made his debut in the U19 Allsvenskan already in his first year.

The 2024 season became the 17-year-old’s breakthrough year. He became part of the men’s team’s goalkeeper group and served as the backup keeper in several matches, both in the Allsvenskan and during European qualifiers.

In December, he made his senior debut, starting in the cup match against Torslanda IK at Malmö IP, a game MFF won 5–2. Less than two weeks later, he featured again, this time in the Europa League against Galatasaray SK.

In addition to his appearances for MFF, Persson has also represented Sweden at youth level, with eight international caps.
