Anton Tinnerholm joined Malmö FF from Åtvidabergs FF in the summer of 2014. He quickly became an important part of the team that won the Swedish Championship and reached the Champions League group stages that same year. The following year, he secured Malmö FF’s advancement in the first qualifying round with his goal away to Zalgiris Vilnius. This led to another Champions League group stage appearance, followed by two more Swedish Championships, before he left Malmö to play in MLS.
At his new club, New York City FC, he quickly became a fan favorite and was named the team’s Most Valuable Player in 2020. An Achilles tendon injury in 2021 kept him sidelined for an extended period, but Anton Tinnerholm fought his way back into the starting lineup. When he left New York, he did so as the player with the second-most assists in the club’s history.
Back at Malmö FF, he’s added two more Swedish Championship titles in 2023 and 2024 bringing his personal tally to 5. As well as winning the Swedish Cup in 2024.
